It's quite funny how there's a National Froyo Day in the middle of winter when no one should think about eating frozen food in the snow. It is equally amusing just how much this marketing ploy works! However, today's post is dedicated to making the most out of your small "free" cup of frozen yogurt!
Today I stood out in snowy weather for 40 minutes, inching my way towards the Yogurtland front door. Knowing that the bowls the workers pass around for the free yogurt, I strategized and planned how to make the most of the tiny bowl. I call this: The Cylinder Approach.
Step 1: Put the lumpy toppings at the bottom. That means all the fruits, gummy worms, candies... basically anything with large mass that could easily topple off the frozen yogurt belongs at the bottom.
Step 2: Dump the froyo. If you're someone who likes multiple flavors, I highly suggest using the middle lever that gets you the mix of two flavors multiple times to make the most of it. Try molding the yogurt into a cylindrical shape. Granted, the cylinder shape won't look perfect, but by keeping this shape in mind, you'll naturally widen the base which gives better support to the upper layers of yogurt. When it becomes too difficult to continue the cylinder approach, top it off with a cone shaped end to a point.
Step 3: Light toppings go last one top of the yogurt! They typically stick pretty easily to the yogurt texture. This allows you to have toppings throughout the eating process-- you have some treats at the top and find the forgotten treasure at the bottom!
Happy National Froyo Day!
