The also-ran of Doctor Who

Today's Word of the Day was used in Doctor Who reference.  Again.  Yes I am that big a DW nerd, but this is a judgement-free place.

also-ran
\ AWL-soh-ran \  , noun;
1. Informal . A person who loses a contest, election, or other competition.
2. Sports . A. (In a race) a contestant who fails to win or to place among the first three finishers. B. An athlete or team whose performance in competition is rarely, if ever, a winning or near-winning one.

I didn't start watching Doctor Who until this past summer, and at the time was unaware of the whole "reincarnation" concept (if you too are unaware of this, go watch/google the series and you'll understand everything).  Because of my ignorance on this subject, I only watched the episodes with Matt Smith as The Doctor.  Biggest.  Mistake.  EVER.

I only say this because Ashley introduced me to the man (aka THE MAN) who played The Doctor before Matt Smith, Scottish actor David Tennant.  I'll just say this: David Tennant is the most gorgeous Doctor in 50 years of history.  He is my new celebrity crush, and I think I'll be posting pictures of him just for the heck of it.  I think his beautiful face could brighten anyone's day.  I know he makes me smile.

Back to the WoD though.  I used it while talking to Ashley today.  The conversation was revolving around the sharp features of David Tennant's face and the luster in his hair when I said: "I'm sorry, but Matt Smith is the also-run of the Doctors."  To this, Ashley replied, "Did you just use the WoD!?"

Why yes I did, Ashley.  I can't help it.  Just like I can't help but look at David Tennant's beautiful face.  All.  Day.  Long.

And here's a jovial (hilarious) clip of him being possessed by a lady who likes to live on...
